Speech Therapists use a wide range of techniques and strategies that are customized for each child’s particular challenge. We know that each child is unique and we create individualized care plans for each child.

Speech Therapy is often thought of as the avenue to help teach children how to say their speech sounds correctly. However, speech therapy goes way beyond just teaching speech!

Speech Therapy can help with many additional skills pertaining to communication, both oral and written. These include improved social skills, improved cognitive development, improved Reading and Writing abilities, improved language acquisition and understanding, and even improved feeding and swallowing issues.
When these things happen, children will have increased confidence and reduced frustration, both at school and at home.
You can read about each of our staff members, including our Speech-Language Pathologists on our staff page and reach out to each one individually if you would like to get to know them better before you come in!
At Reading Write Alaskawe truly have a fantastic team that cares about each individual child and their specific needs. We are also able to service those outside of the Anchorage area including Homer, Soldotna, Seward, Girdwood, and remote villages via teletherapy. We can’t wait to see you!
